The Meaning of "Sela" (סֶלַע)
The heart of our brand lies in our name. In Hebrew, the word "Sela" (סֶלַע) translates to "Rock," "Crag," or "Cliff."
Throughout the Psalms, this word is used to describe God as a fortress and a place of safety. As it says in Psalm 18:2, "The Lord is my rock (Sela), my fortress and my deliverer."
When you wear Sela Merch, you are reminding yourself and the world that your foundation is unshakeable because it is built on the Rock of Ages.

Our Story
Every great journey begins with a choice. For us, it was a moment of absolute truth between a brother and a sister standing at a crossroad.
SELA Merch wasn’t born in a boardroom; it was born in the heart of the storm. We were raised in a Christian household, but like many, we discovered that knowing about God and truly finding Him are two very different things. Our faith wasn't found in the comfort of our childhood—it was forged as adults through the trials that tested our very foundations.
Two Paths, One Vision
Our founders bring two unique walks of life into every design:
Jennifer: A mother of three (soon to be four) navigating the beautiful, chaotic "roller coaster" of parenthood and entrepreneurship.
Jesus: A man on a dedicated path of discipline and faith, driven by a deep passion for art and the living Word of God.
The name Sela was carried over from Jennifer’s first venture, Sela Hair. In the midst of the darkness and chaos that often come with building a dream, we found our only true refuge in the Lord.
Turning the Word into a Visual
We realized that in our hardest moments, we needed more than just a memory of faith—we needed a daily, tangible reminder of His promises. We believe that words have power, and we wanted to turn that power into something we could carry with us.
SELA Merch is our way of sharing that hope. We’ve turned His Word into a visual, creating apparel that serves as a shield of inspiration and a reminder of His unwavering faithfulness when you need it most.
